The Community is located in East-Finland, Enonkoski Municipality, Ihamaniemi village. Distance from the nearest town Savonlinna is about 50 kilometers. From Savonlinna follow the "Heinävesi"-signs, cross the water by ferry, after the ferry take the first road to the left ("Ihamaniemi") and drive 9 kilometers. Follow the sign "Enonkosken luostariyhteisö, Ihamaniemen kappeli" and turn to the left. The public connections to the Community are poor. When not able to drive a car, please, give us a call, then take a bus or a train to Savonlinna from where we arrange the further transportation.

OPERATION AND ACCOMMODATION

The Monastic Protestant Community in Enonkoski started in February 1994 in a former Primary School building in the Ihamaniemi village.

Purpose of the Community is to be a place for rest, relaxation and prayer. The Community accommodates guests and arranges silent retreats as well as other spiritual and religious occasions.

Women, men and married couples who are fit for work will be accepted as charity workers, test members or full members to The Monastic Protestant Community.
