Downhill Skiing

The best downhill skiing centre in the Kolovesi region is Pääskyvuori, located approximately three kilometres from the main Village of Heinävesi, toward Varkaus.

Here the entire family may enjoy an active time. The difference between the highest and lowest point of the slope is 102 metres and skiers who are more advanced have been appointed a more demanding downhill racing slope of their own. There are a total of four slopes and two ski lifts; children have their own Hippo-hissi ski lift. In addition to this there are approximately twenty kilometres of ski trails, eight kilometres of which are lit, in connection with the downhill skiing centre.

The services of Pääskyvuori include a café, equipment rental and a caravan site with room for 50 caravans complete with electricity. The downhill skiing centre is open from December to April, depending on the weather conditions. For the latest news see http://www.paaskyvuori.fi
